Terms and conditions

These are the terms on which Skyfare Ltd ("Skyfare", "we") recovers flight compensation for you ("you", the "Passenger"). They are written in plain English on purpose; the plain English is the contract. Last updated 24 September 2026.

In short: no win, no fee. If we recover compensation, our fee is a flat 30% of it, VAT included, and nothing more, even if the claim goes to a dispute scheme or court. If we recover nothing, you pay nothing. You can cancel within 14 days. We handle the whole claim; you agree not to run a second claim for the same flight alongside ours.

1. Who we are

Skyfare Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17527317, registered office 42 Dorset Road, London E7 8PS. You can reach us at claims@skyfare.co. Flight compensation claims management is not an activity regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration ZC284492.

2. What we do

We pursue, on your behalf, compensation and related sums that may be owed to you by an airline under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 as it applies in the United Kingdom (assimilated law, "UK261") and in the European Union ("EC261"), and any equivalent rules, for a delayed, cancelled or overbooked flight (the "Claim"). This includes: assessing the Claim, preparing and sending it to the airline, chasing the airline, answering its arguments, referring the Claim to an approved dispute-resolution scheme or a national enforcement body, and, where we consider it justified, bringing or instructing court proceedings, all at our cost and risk.

We decide how the Claim is pursued, including whether and when to escalate, settle or discontinue it. We act in good faith to recover the full amount you are entitled to. We will never accept vouchers or a reduced sum on your behalf without asking you first.

3. The contract, the authority and the assignment

A contract between you and Skyfare is formed when you submit a claim on our site and sign the Authority to Act. By signing you:

  1. Confirm that you were a passenger on the flight (or are the parent or guardian of the passenger you name), that the information you give is true and complete, and that you have not already been paid for this disruption and have not appointed anyone else to claim for it.
  2. Authorise Skyfare to act for you: to correspond with the airline, any dispute scheme, enforcement body or court; to receive information about your booking and flight; to instruct lawyers where needed; and to receive payment of the compensation on your behalf.
  3. Assign to Skyfare your right to the compensation, to the extent necessary for Skyfare to pursue and receive it (an absolute assignment under section 136 of the Law of Property Act 1925, or the equivalent rule wherever the Claim is pursued). Where assignment is not permitted by the law that applies, this clause takes effect as an irrevocable authority and power of attorney to pursue and receive the compensation for you instead, and clause 6 (what happens if the airline pays you directly) still applies.

The assignment is limited to the compensation for this flight. It does not affect any other right you have against the airline. If the contract ends without compensation being recovered (because you cancel, or we stop), we will execute a written re-assignment of the claim back to you within 14 days, and it is yours to pursue.

Other passengers on the booking

  • Children. A parent or legal guardian signs for a passenger under 18 and gives us the child's full name and date of birth. The guardian's signature covers the child's claim.
  • Other adults. Each adult passenger's claim is their own. By naming another adult you confirm you have their permission to claim for them and that they accept these terms; we may ask each of them to sign their own Authority to Act before the claim is sent, and an airline or scheme may insist on it. Their share of any compensation is paid to the account you give us unless they ask us to pay them directly.

Other claims for the same flight

If you have already asked anyone else (another claims company, a solicitor, the airline directly) to pursue this flight, you must cancel that arrangement before we send the claim and tell us if you cannot. Two claims for one flight harm both.

4. Our fee

  • If compensation is recovered, our fee is 30% of the amount recovered, inclusive of VAT. That is the whole fee. There is no additional charge for chasing, dispute-scheme referral, legal work or court proceedings, and no charge for expenses or costs we incur.
  • If nothing is recovered, you pay nothing. We do not charge for assessing, preparing, sending or escalating a Claim that does not succeed.
  • "Compensation" means the fixed sums payable under UK261/EC261 for the disruption and any settlement of them. Reimbursement of your out-of-pocket expenses (meals, hotels, transport) that we also recover is passed to you in full without a fee.
  • Where an airline, scheme or court also pays interest or our costs, those sums are ours; they do not reduce your share.
  • If the airline pays in a currency other than the one your compensation is set in, we convert it at the rate our bank applies on the day and pass on only the actual conversion cost.

5. Paying you

The airline pays Skyfare. We pay your share by bank transfer to the account you give us on your claim page, within 14 days of the money clearing in our account. We hold passengers' money separately from our own. You will see on your claim page the amount recovered, the fee and the amount sent, with the date. If we cannot pay you because we have no valid bank details, we will remind you; money we cannot pay out after 12 months of reasonable efforts to reach you is held until you claim it.

6. If the airline pays you directly

Some airlines pay the passenger instead of us even after we have notified them of the assignment. If you receive compensation for this flight directly from the airline (in money or in vouchers you accept), you must tell us within 7 days and pay us our fee on it, calculated in the same way as clause 4, within 10 days of our invoice. This is not an extra fee; it is the same fee, collected differently.

7. What we need from you

  • Truthful, complete information and documents (booking confirmation or boarding pass, photo ID for each passenger, and anything the airline reasonably asks for).
  • To forward to us, promptly and unedited, anything the airline sends you about this flight, and not to negotiate with the airline yourself while we act for you.
  • Not to appoint anyone else, or claim yourself, for the same disruption while this contract is in force.
  • To tell us if your contact details or bank details change.

If information you gave us turns out to be false, or you breach clause 6 or 7, we may end the contract, and you must pay us the fee we would have received on any compensation the airline has paid or offered, plus our reasonable costs caused by the breach.

8. Your right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel this contract for any reason within 14 days of signing, by emailing claims@skyfare.co with your claim reference, or by using the form at the end of these terms. Nothing is payable if you cancel before we have recovered anything. By submitting your claim you ask us to start work at once, within the 14 days; if compensation is recovered before you cancel, the fee in clause 4 applies to it.

After 14 days you may still end the contract at any time in writing. If you do so after we have sent the Claim to the airline, and compensation for that flight is later paid to you or anyone on your behalf, our fee is payable on it, because the recovery follows from our work. If we have already issued court proceedings when you end the contract, you also reimburse the court fee we paid, and nothing else.

9. Referring someone else

When your claim is submitted we give you a referral link. If someone uses it to make a claim and that claim is paid by the airline, we will pay you £20 for each passenger on their claim, by bank transfer, to the account details you give us. There is no limit on how many people you refer.

  • The reward is earned only when the airline actually pays their claim. If their claim is refused, withdrawn or closed, nothing is owed for it.
  • You cannot refer yourself: a claim made by you, or from your email address, earns nothing.
  • We may decline a reward where a claim is not genuine, is a duplicate of one already made, or where the link has been used in a way we reasonably consider abusive, and we will tell you why.
  • The reward is yours to declare if your own circumstances require it; we do not deduct tax from it.
  • We may change or withdraw this offer at any time. A reward already earned on a claim that has been paid is not affected.

10. When we may decline or stop

We may decline a Claim, or stop pursuing it, if we conclude it is unlikely to succeed, the airline has become insolvent, the information is incomplete after we have asked, or continuing would be disproportionate. We will tell you, and you are free to pursue the Claim yourself; nothing is payable to us in that case.

11. Our responsibility to you

We will carry out the service with reasonable care and skill (Consumer Rights Act 2015). We do not guarantee that any Claim will succeed, how long it will take, or that an airline will comply with a decision. We are not responsible for losses caused by information you gave us being wrong or late, by the airline or a third party, or by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited. Our total liability to you under this contract is limited to the amount of compensation recovered on your Claim.

12. Your personal data

We use your data to run your Claim, as set out in our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms. Your claim page and every email we send show you what is happening; you can ask us at any time.

13. Complaints

If something goes wrong, email claims@skyfare.co with "complaint" and your claim reference. We acknowledge within 2 working days and give a final answer within 8 weeks. If you are not satisfied, you may take the matter to the courts of England and Wales (or of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there). If you are in the EU, you may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform where it applies.

14. General

  • These terms and any dispute about them are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or an EU member state, you also have the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live, and may bring proceedings there.
  • We may transfer this contract to another company that takes over our business, on the same terms; we will tell you if we do. You may not transfer it.
  • If part of these terms is found invalid, the rest continues.
  • We may update these terms for future claims. The terms you signed apply to your Claim unless a change is required by law; the date at the top tells you which version you have.
  • These terms are in English; where we provide a translation, the English text prevails.
